Junebug – Rescued by Paws of Kyle Shelter and adopted April 4, 2013

Junebug is stylin’ here, but she’s survived some tough times and bad luck and still isn’t safe in her forever home. She came to us shy, lonely, and abused and was overlooked by adopters for months at the shelter. Things went downhill from there, when her adopters let her go stray and refused to reclaim her when she came back starved, sick, and scared. We got her medical treatment and decided that what happened to Junebug would never again happen to any of our dogs.

In spite of everything, Junebug is a great dog – affectionate, easy on the leash, and ready for her forever home. She may not be good with other dogs, cats, or small children – too many things have happened to her along the way – but she’s ready to part of a loving home. Make a place for Junebug in your life, and you’ll never regret it.

Update: Junebug is now at the PAWS Shelter in Kyle, Texas (http://pawsshelter.org/) which is one of our favorite no-kill shelters. The love and attention she’s gotten from the volunteers and the great folks at the FM 685 Animal Clinic in Hutto have greatly improved her outlook on life and her behavior. She now seems good with other dogs and with people, and is quiet, loving and content now that she’s out of the crowded Austin shelter and has recovered from her physical and mental hurts.

Junie is spending the weekend with me and what a great companion she is!

She is showing me her sweet personality little by little, as it’s the first time she has been with me. After leaving PAWS, we went to do a little shopping for a new collar among other things and she was very good in the stores. I believe the walks are what she likes best – so many things to see and smell that she doesn’t get to enjoy while in her kennel.

We are weekending in my Austin apartment and she’s totally house trained. She doesn’t hop onto the furniture without an invitation. She gets this from me and is a great sofa snuggler. She is ready for her forever home and to give back all the love she can get.
